3 Recipes for Raw Jam

Jam is not the healthiest of foods. With its long cooking time and high sugar content, it’s not the best thing for our bodies. Here are three raw jam recipes which are much better for your health and delicious!

Fresh jam

Ingredients

10 organic dried figs

4 organic dried apricots

4 pieces of organic dried mango

1 teaspoon of freshly grated ginger

The zest of ½ an orange

The juice from 2 oranges

Recipe

After removing the stems from the figs, leave them to soak with the rest of other ingredients overnight. Mix everything together with a blender until you get a smooth and consistent paste. This raw jam keeps for at least 2 weeks in the fridge.

Prune jam

Ingredients

12 prunes

50g of cashew nuts

The juice from 1 lemon

1 pinch of cinnamon (optional)

Recipe

In two separate bowls, soak the prunes as well as the cashew for one hour. Rinse the cashew nuts. Pour the prunes with their water from soaking into a blender, along with the cashew nuts, lemon juice and cinnamon, and then blend. This jam keeps for one week in the fridge.

Date Jam

Ingredients

50g of cashew nuts

7 organic Medjool dates

4 organic dried apricots (without preservatives, they must be brown not orange)

Recipe

In separate bowls, soak the cashew nuts and the dried fruit, and set them aside for an hour. Rinse the cashew nuts. Place the dried fruit along with the water from soaking in a blender with the cashew nuts and blend everything together, adding a bit of extra water if necessary. The jam must be smooth and consistent. You can keep this raw jam for one week in the fridge.
